Francis Tey - Academic Director

Francis Tey is the Founder, and Academic Director of Charleston Management Centre (CMC). He earned his Master of Science Degree via distance learning course majoring in Technology Management in the year 2000 from the University of East London, United Kingdom.

He has more than 16 years of extensive experience in the field of IT and Geographic Information System (GIS) taking up the functional roles in areas of IT Technical Services, Pre-Sales Consultant, Professional/Consulting Services, and Project Management during his career development path. In addition, he has an overall 8 years of training experience as an educator himself, particulary in the professional education training workplace before incorporating the training centre as a business entity whilst adopting the principles of "Live Long Learning".

His current endeavors into the academic and professional training field as the Academic Director at Charleston is within his passion in Life to leave a legacy behind via a "learning institutional" and to fullfil his personal social responsibilities to the community. Francis is also a certified Pembangunan Sumber Manusia Berhad (PSMB) trainer since 2007 which is an Agency under the Ministry of Human Resources, via the Pembangunan Sumber Manusia Berhad Act, 2001.


 

Nicholas Ng - Programme Development Director

Nicholas is the Programme Development Director of Charleston Management Centre (CMC). He has over 10 years of experience in providing professional consultancy services on cyber security threat alleviation and protection programmes for financial services institutions, large corporations and government agencies in Malaysia and ASEAN region. He has vast technical experience in helping organizations in establishing their IT security requirements and ensuring their compliance with the latest security standard and best practices.
 
Nicholas started his professional career in IT security in year 2000. He has spent over 10 years in his career primarily in the implementation of enterprise security solutions, conducting security workshops and trainings,  managing vulnerability assessment and penetration testing projects, and contributing in the ISMS compliance and risk assessment exercises. He has vast experience in SOC operations including security incident and threat analysis, SIEM system design and deployment in the Managed Security Services industry. In 2010, he embarked into the identity security and access management industry.


Alan Tan - Business Development Director

Alan is the Business Development Director of Charleston Management Centre (CMC). He has a wealth of technical and business knowledge that helps him foster close working relationships with customers and partners to ensure the delivery of market-driven products and services. He has 16 years of diverse technology management experience and has occupied key leadership positions as business unit leader, software development manager and team lead. His combination of business, technical and leadership skills enables him to bring CMC's products and services to key markets. In consultation with customers, prospects and partners, Alan identifies new market opportunities for CMC, and helps plot CMC's course as new technologies and standards emerge. Alan plays an important role in the evolution of the company's services portfolio and technology alliances.

Prior to joining CMC, Alan worked in the government’s R&D institution as a researcher before moving on to holding ICT advisory roles in KPMG. During his tenure in KPMG, he has gained vast technical experience in system analysis, business process engineering and project management with in-depth knowledge and skills particularly in the trusted identity domain. He was actively involved in the deployment of medium to large-scale enterprise applications for the financial and government industry.

Alan holds a Bachelor degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering from University Science Malaysia. He also has a Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) from University Technology Malaysia (in collaboration with Cranfield University, United Kingdom).
